Melissa is an Assistant Corporate Officer with Ribble Valley Borough Council.

Melissa would like to move into a more senior position in Marketing or Accounting.

Melissa attended St. Augustine's RC High School in Whalley, where she gained 11 GCSEs.
She achieved a merit in GNVQ Business Studies (Advanced) at St. Mary's College and also studied AS Level Accounting.
She then took a year out and worked in a bakery. The idea of going to university did not appeal to Melissa, but she was unsure of what she wanted to do. She joined Training 2000, and completed NVQ 3 in Business Administration and RSA Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Shorthand. She began work for Hodgsons Imports, a car- importing company.
She moved to a position with the Ribble Valley Borough Council to do a Modern Apprenticeship in the Legal Section, from where she was promoted to Assistant Corporate Policy Officer. The Council provided the funding for Melissa to do a Foundation Degree in Business at Preston College in Business (a 2 year part-time course, with an option to study for an extra year for HND or 3 years for a degree).
Melissa is a Liverpool supporter. She has also had a horse for the last ten years and attended local shows.
