What qualifications can I study for?

There are all sorts of subjects you can study at university from Ancient Egypt to Aromatherapy to David Beckham! If you have a particular university in mind, it's better to go straight to their web site or request a prospectus to see what subjects and courses they have on offer.

If you have a particular subject in mind, there are various ways you can find out which universities offer a course relating to it.

How much does it cost and can I get help?

At university all students are required to pay tuition fees to cover the cost of your learning. You pay a set amount each year, usually in three instalments. The most you will pay if you are going to university in 2003/04 is £1,125 for the year - according to the Department for Education and Skills.

Many students are eligible for help in paying this amount of money. Some students may even get all of the fees paid on their behalf by the government. There are also other ways that you can get help with paying your fees - contact the university you plan to attend for more information.

You will also be able to apply for a student loan to help cover the cost of attending university.
